Meet the Artist
Tamura Miguel is an outgoing and energetic art lover. She holds a BA in Art Education, a MA in Best Practices and a California Teaching Credential. Tamura is an advocate of the arts and is a member of Gilroy's Art and Culture Commission.
Prior to opening the studio, Tamura taught art at the high school level. During her college years, she worked at Rebekah Children's Services where she had opportunities to design and facilitate grant funded art workshops for Gilroy youth.
Tamura is passionate about using art as an opportunity for creative problem solving and as a tool for therapeutic self expression.
While she specializes in acrylic painting, Tamura is skilled in a variety of media including drawing, pastel, watercolor and collage. She enjoys incorporating different media in her classes to offer students diverse opportunities to develop their artistic skills.
